







Terrou-Bi history
The fascinating story of Terrou-Bi began with Kalil Rahal, heir to the rich culture of Lebanon, whose dreams came to life under the sun of Senegal, his adopted homeland. In 1986, in Dakar, he set up a restaurant on the seafront, named "Terrou Bi!" in homage to the local fishermen, meaning "Land on the horizon". The name embodies the discovery and warm welcome of a promising land. Alongside his wife Aïda, Kalil has created a place of delight and conviviality.
Over the years, their sons Kamil and Samir joined the adventure, carrying on the tradition of hospitality. In 1996, the Casino Terrou-Bi and the restaurant La Terrasse came into being, marking a delicious chapter in the family history. Guided by their father's dream, Kamil and Samir expanded the casino, modernised the gourmet restaurant and got involved in community initiatives.
Terrou-Bi's reputation extends beyond local borders with the opening of a luxury hotel in 2008, notably following the OIC summit. Milestones such as the collaboration with Chanel in 2023 and the ambitious Terrou-Bi 2027 project underline a constant quest for evolution.
Proudly rooted in its African identity, Terrou-Bi has become a popular destination on Dakar's western corniche, attracting a varied clientele with its unique offering, exceptional location and impeccable service. The new Rahal generation passionately perpetuates the ancestral vision of the place, offering each visitor a beautiful escape where flavours, smiles and memories intertwine in an unforgettable melody.

The initial aspiration was to create a space of pride for neighbours, quickly evolving into a global invitation to savour the serenity and inspiration of this rare destination.

Our establishment is certified under the international standard ISO 22000:2018, which attests to our rigor in food safety management. This certification reflects our high standards and commitment, from the selection of local products to the tables of our restaurants, ensuring our guests enjoy a healthy, safe, and refined culinary experience.
As an ambassador of Senegal, we proudly showcase local products and the talent of Senegalese artisans. Our restaurants and lounges offer a wide variety of flavors, crafted mainly from local ingredients. We also embrace the art of homemade creations: breads, pastries, and desserts are prepared daily in our own workshops under the supervision of our Chefs and their teams.
At Terrou-Bi, our responsible commitment also translates into concrete environmental initiatives: eliminating plastic bottles (except on the beach for safety reasons), adopting the Vapodil ecological dry-steam cleaning method for our rooms, and promoting the use of LED lighting, recycled paper, and biodegradable materials.
Beyond hospitality and service, we place transmission and openness at the heart of our CSR approach. Convinced that our role extends beyond the walls of the establishment, we act in favor of education, the environment, and social bonds. In this spirit, we created our Botanical Garden, a living space for learning and awareness, open to the youth of the community.
